Can I bring my appliances to your shop for repair?
Now that we have moved to our new location at 49 Duke St, we can offer you the additional option of carry-in repairs! Some customers find this is a more convenient option and we are happy to be able to accommodate these types of repairs. There is a $88 assessment and storage fee for carry-in repairs which includes 15 minutes of labour.
What are your fees?
We charge a once off callout fee of $165 to come and assess your machine. This fee includes 15 minutes of labour which is generally enough time to diagnose the fault, and in some circumstances, we can even repair simple faults in that time. If parts and extra labour are required for the same job, we do not charge the callout fee again, instead we charge labour in 15-minute increments of $45 (If two technicians are required, labour is charged at $70 per 15-minutes.) as well as the cost of parts which we will quote for you before proceeding with the job. We also offer the option of carry-in repairs for a $95 assessment and storage fee which also includes 15 minutes of labour. Customers who hold a Senior Card are entitled to a 10% discount on their callout and labour.
Why am I charged a callout fee?
We charge this fee to ensure we can cover staff wages, administration cost, fuel, travel, advertising and other business-related costs that we incur while travelling to your job. The good news is however, that this is a once off fee! So, if we need to return to your house to install parts for the same job, you will only be charged additional labour, not the callout fee again.
Can you order parts for my machine based off the fault that I describe?
There is the rare occasion when there is no doubt in our mind on what needs to be ordered for a particular job (eg. A handle for a dishwasher), however, when it comes to mechanical faults, it can be very difficult to be 100% sure of a diagnosis over the phone as certain symptoms can be caused by a variety of different faults. We always prefer to assess the machine in person to be able to ensure we order the correct part. If you do order a specific part from us without a prior assessment, we will require payment upfront and will not be able to provide a refund if the part does not fix the fault.
Will you have the parts with you to repair my machine at the initial callout?
We do try to carry as many commonly used parts as possible, however, it is impossible for us to stock every single appliance part as each machine has certain parts that are unique only to it. When it is possible for us to diagnose the fault over the phone, we will often try to source the most likely part before attending your repair. If we don’t have your parts in stock, we will always order them on the same day as inspection to ensure we can repair your machine quickly.
Can I buy parts from you and repair my own machine?
All electrical work MUST be completed by a licensed electrical repairer by law. It is extremely dangerous to work on your own electrical appliances.
For not electrical components (eg, door handles, detergent trays, etc), you are able to purchase parts from us and fit them yourself. If in doubt, ask us and we will let you know.
When do I have to pay for my job?
Payment for a callout is required on completion of your job. Our technician has a mobile eftpos machine available for your convenience. We also accept cash and cheque with a $2 deposit fee added for cheque payments. Payment for carry-in repairs is required on drop off of the machine. Further labour and parts required to repair the machine will be quoted for your approval first, and then charged on a separate invoice on completion of the job.
Is there a fee if I fail to cancel my job?
There is a $30 fee for customers who fail to cancel their booking less than 4 hours in advance. This includes circumstances in which we arrive at your home in the designated time frame and there is nobody there, meaning we are unable to perform the job.
